Formerly the core members of Religious To Damn, Zohra Atash and Joshua Strawn (Vaura, Blacklist) changed gears, turning their organic dark chamber ensemble into a heavy beat minded electronic duo. Initially Azar Swan drew comparisons to The Knife and Kate Bush, citing influence from classic industrial artists such as Front Line Assembly and Coil (whose former member Drew McDowell remixed their single “In My Mouth”).

Over the course of their time as a revamped entity, Azar Swan released a digital single on Pendu Sound, the LP 'Dance Before the War' on Handmade Birds, and the LP “And Blow Us A Kiss” on Zoo Music. Noise and power electronics innovators Dominick Fernow and William Bennet remixed two songs from “And Blow Us a Kiss” under their Vatican Shadow and Cut Hands monikers for a limited edition 12” entitled “Variations.”

They have played notable shows over the past years with Prurient, The Soft Moon, White Lung, King Dude, Alberich, and Lussuria. Azar Swan has just completed their third full length with producer Kris Lapke (Prurient, Cold Cave) which will see a Fall 2017 release on aufnahme +wiedergabe.
